It is the place where people come to see the face behind the brand.
This is your opportunity to create a memorable first impression – best to not get this wrong.
Now, your story might be great and really well written, but selfies and poor quality images can dilute its impact and encourage visitors to look elsewhere. Defo not the reaction we want …..
But, anyway…I digress .. here is a little bit about me!
My Story
I am Kerstin, a multi award winning photographer.
I love to say that out loud, because I have not always been a professional photographer!
My father insisted in me going to University instead of learning a trade (what photography is back in Germany)
I always loved photography and funny enough so did my dad!
I am convinced that one of the first things I saw in life was my dad’s camera lens pointing at my chubby baby face!
His father was a photographer too, shooting with big plate cameras back in his days …
So, my genes were set I guess … but my path was anything but straight!
I studied Law, then Business Management ...
… and started a career in logistics, climbing up the ladder …
I photographed for fun, was excited when I took the films in the lab and got prints back and had maybe one or two nice ones 😂
In 2003 I travelled to Scotland and fell in love with its beauty and culture! I visited the Outer Hebrides a year later and saw a different pace of life there and my intention was set: I wanted to move to Scotland and get rid of the corporate stress, out of the hamster wheel.
In 2006 I moved to Edinburgh, still working at my job in Germany. I quit 3 months later not really knowing what would come next, I just needed to get out!
At that time I had no clue that I could study photography in Scotland!!
Sometimes you just have to follow your Heart and Intuition! Even when you do not exactly know where you are heading – It will always be right!
It was likely no coincidence, when I visited an exhibition and started talking to a photography tutor ….
One week later I was at college with my modest portfolio and 3 weeks later I was a photography student …… 😳
Honestly – I had the best time of my life! I could not believe that I could finally properly learn what I always wanted to do.
I loved every minute at college!
I did my NQ, HNC, HND and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2011!
I could not have been more proud to finally be what I always wanted to be – a professional photographer.
My father was proud too – he admitted … proud that I had the guts to follow my dream – something he had not done…..
